Lancer is a mud-and-lasers RPG about mechs and the pilots who crew them, featuring deep narrative play, gritty tactical combat and broad mech and pilot customization. Into this roiling galaxy you take your role as a mech pilot — from cold-blooded mercenaries to honor-bound Baronic cuirassiers, hardscrabble Union regulars to professional Constellar Midnights, Far Field teams at the uncanny edge of known space to the ever-wandering Albatross. Operating with a wealth of licenses from one of the galaxy’s great powers, you and your friends play a tight-knit squad of pilots on campaign — comrades together in a galaxy of danger and hope. Will you fight for Union, working to rectify the crimes of previous administrations? Will you run contracts for a corpro-state, working to advance private interests while lining your pockets? Will you fight to liberate your people from all masters, human or otherwise? Or will you fight only for yourself? Lancer features a mix of military science fiction and mythic science fantasy. In the setting, conscript pilots mix ranks with flying aces, mercenary guns-for-hire brawl with secretive corpro-state agents, and relativistic paladins cross thermal lances with causality-breaking entities. In Lancer, there is promise in the potential, but the hard-won gains of humanity are under serious threat. From the internal: ruthless corpro-states, bitter anthrochauvinist reactionaries, and ponderous oligarchs, to the external: MONIST 1, or RA, an anoriginary being with unfathomable power and unknowable goals; the Aunic Ascendancy, the unbroken heirs of Old Humanity; and more. Having only begun the project of recovering from its own internal political revolutions, Union now scrambles to reassert its control over a galaxy that would fall to chaos otherwise. Who will you fight for, pilot?

No Room for a Wallflower now available!

Hello all,

Thanks to your support, our first narrative campaign is now released and available over at our web store. It's a great looking book with 200+ pages of painstakingly organized narrative campaign written by Miguel Lopez and all new content such as new and variant mechs, exotic gear, new (and strange!) NPCs, and a new talent.


All backers at the core book level or above should receive an e-mail with a download code to pick up their copy for free. Watch out for an e-mail from itch.io (you'll also need an itch.io account to claim the key).


If you backed later on Backerkit and not during the campaign unfortunately you'll have to pick up a copy of the book separately, but it's well worth it. If you don't get the e-mail, please double check to make sure the contact information you provided on Backerkit is updated and current, then send us an e-mail if you still didn't get it.

Iconic Wallflower Backers: Here's your chance!

We're in the final stages of editing our next release, the No Room for a Wallflower campaign guide (part 1). The book is looking incredible so far, but we're still missing quite a few backer names for those of you who backed at the Iconic tier for Wallflower. If you haven't gotten through to us yet, please shoot us an e-mail at [email protected] titled 'Wallflower Iconic Backer' with the name you want to get in the book plus a few details to help us place it. Lancer shipping updates

Hey all,

We're very happy to hear that the books have started getting into everyone's hands (we've seen a lot of pictures on twitter).

Unfortunately, we've been informed by our distributor that processing address updates after fulfillment has started will not be possible (this includes if you e-mailed us after the shipping announcement here). Once your book ships you should receive an e-mail to the address associated with your backerkit account and you may be able to use parcel tracking to find the package if it was delivered to an old address. Undelivered books may be returned to us and once fulfillment has completed in several weeks we may be able to find a solution to re-send them, but unfortunately with an order of this size (7000+) books we need to rely on the information given to us.

Lancer Books are shipping out to backers!

Hey all,

We're very happy to announce that hard copies of our books are going out to backers via our fulfillment partner, Quartermaster Logistics. The books look fantastic and the color and printing came out really nicely and we can't wait for them to get into your hands.

Here's when to expect books, based on your region:

- If you backed at a tier that had a signed book, the books will be slightly delayed from whatever region you're in as we have to do some passing back and forth. This also includes other benefits from the backer tier (zine, signed print, etc) which should be coming around the same time.

- If you're a backer from the US and Canada, your books are being shipped this week and you should see them mid-late August. These books are going out in waves since there are so many of them so the timing might vary depending on what wave your book is in.

- Backers in Europe and the UK should see books mid-late August.

- Backers in Asia, your books should arrive early-mid August. 

- Backers in all other regions should see their books arrive mid August.

The books will be sent to whatever address you had added on Backerkit. We will do our best to accommodate last minute address updates (please e-mail [email protected]) but we are not personally responsible for shipping service, which is sent with our partner via US media mail and international parcel service. Due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19 on delivery times there may be delays in shipping.

One last thing, we will have a surplus of books if you missed the Kickstarter. Keep an eye open here and on our twitter (@Lancer_RPG) for updates.
